Internal Fit-Out

After installation, the internal fit-out follows a clear sequence: first fix electrics, plastering, second fix electrics, then flooring and skirting.

First Fix Electrics

Once the building is installed, the electrician arranges the first fix. This is where the electrical infrastructure is put in place, including cable runs and positions for sockets, switches, and agreed points.

First fix is preparation and accuracy — it sets everything up before the walls are finished.

Plastering

After first fix, the room is plastered to create smooth internal surfaces ready for finishing. Drying time is allowed before moving to the next stage.

Second Fix Electrics

Once plaster is fully dry, the electrician returns for second fix. This is where sockets, switches, faceplates, and agreed fittings are installed to complete the electrical installation.

Flooring & Skirting

With plastering and electrics complete, flooring is laid to finish the room, followed by skirting boards for clean edges and a tidy final look.

Typical Timescale

In most cases, the internal fit-out takes around two weeks, give or take. Timing can vary depending on scheduling and drying time.
